Home to John Hancock Hall and the Dorothy Quincy Suite, Back Bay Events Center is a Boston original—rich in history and thoughtfully adapted for contemporary use.
Spanning more than 20,000 square feet, the venue includes a spacious ballroom, a 1,100-seat theater, and a collection of breakout and meeting rooms. Together, the spaces support conferences, performances, trade shows, and special events of varying scale.

As a boutique convention center, Back Bay Events Center is among the largest independent event facilities in Boston and one of the few non-hotel venues in Back Bay capable of accommodating large-format events. Its architecture—distinctive, enduring, and increasingly rare—has also made it a frequent choice for film and location productions.

Refined acoustics, comfortable seating, and precise sightlines ensure every program is experienced with ease. The expansive professional stage is fully equipped with lighting and sound, two Steinway grand pianos, and generous dressing rooms.

The Freedom room is located adjacent to The Common. At 1,296 square feet, it is our most frequently selected meeting space, with convenient access for lunch or informal breaks in The Common.

A walk down The Charles leads to the Patriot room. With 1,224 sq. ft. of space, impactful presentations and meaningful exchange happen here.

The Esplanade, The Charles, and The Common serve as shared common areas and may be incorporated into events as gathering, transition, or breakout spaces.
